Child & Adolescent Service: One of the most difficult decisions a parent may have to make is whether or not their child is in need of in-patient behavioral health care. Our professional treatment team is sensitive to the needs of the child and their parents in crisis. Children from ages four to eighteen develop positive psychosocial skills through education,psychiatric evaluation, group therapy,psychological evaluation and psychopharmacology when appropriate in a caring and nurturing environment. Children are introduced to goal focused groups that help them learn effective
coping skills, anger management and stress reduction. Using the Psycho Educational Model (PEM) children learn how to make healthy choices and
progress toward their treatment goals which enhances self esteem. Academic learning continues during hospitalization with on-site classroom education provided by the St. James Tutoring program. Medical concerns are managed by our staff pediatric specialist. Our goal for your child is to resume functioning in their home environment and to return to school..
